Saturday 6th May was tennis for chocolate lovers at Westfields.
This was the first of our ‘themed’ social tennis afternoons and proved a great success. The turnout of players was high, with some members coming along that we don’t normally see on a Saturday afternoon. I wonder why they came!
With a good turnout of members, there was plenty of time to sit between sets, to enjoy the sunshine and to sample the wide range of chocolate goodies that had been made or bought for the occasion. Eating so much chocolate didn’t necessarily help one’s tennis, but it made for a very enjoyable afternoon.
With our first VOM match at home versus Thirsk on 7th May, we have kept ample supplies of chocolate in reserve to distract the opposition team. Our secret weapon!
Thank you to all who came along to play and who provided the wonderful range of chocolate goodies. We can now look forward to our next themed afternoon on Saturday 3rd June … wine and cheese. Should be good if our first one is anything to go by!
